At Keys Group, we are proud to announce our commitment to the Armed Forces Community through the signing of the Armed Forces Covenant by our CEO, David Manson. This pledge underscores our dedication to supporting Service personnel, reservists, veterans, and military families.

Our Pledge

We recognise the invaluable contributions of those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces. By signing the Armed Forces Covenant, we commit to: 

  • Ensuring fair treatment for members of the Armed Forces Community, preventing any disadvantage compared to other citizens. 
  • Providing additional support for those who have made significant sacrifices, such as the injured or bereaved. 
  • Actively recruiting Armed Forces Community members and updating HR policies to be Armed Forces and Veteran Friendly. 
  • Establishing a Veterans Peer Support Staff Network and appointing an Armed Forces Champion to lead a dedicated steering group. 
  • Celebrating Armed Forces Day, Armistice Day, and Remembrance Sunday with dedicated events. 
  • Enhancing services for individuals in our care with military connections by linking them to specialised support organisations. 
  • Collaborating with military charities, the NHS, and commissioners to meet the needs of veterans. 
  • Regularly updating the public and inviting feedback through our website and other channels.

Meet Diane Palmer, Armed Forces Community Champion

Diane Palmer, our Armed Forces Community Champion and Associate Clinical Director – Adults, brings a wealth of experience and passion to this initiative. With over 30 years of experience in health and social care, Diane has pioneered numerous military-focused mental health services and has been recognised with prestigious awards, including the National Nurse of the Year and a Lifetime Achievement Award. Her leadership ensures that Keys Group will fulfil its commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant.  

Armed Forces Covenant Steering Group 

Our Steering Group comprises veterans and senior leaders across the business, working together to implement our Covenant pledge effectively. This diverse team ensures that the unique needs of the Armed Forces Community are represented and addressed. 

 

Veteran Staff Peer Support Network 

Our Veteran Staff Peer Support Network is co-led by Diane Palmer and Ali Nash MBE, a highly regarded advocate for veterans. This network provides a space for camaraderie, support, and collaboration among veteran staff members. 

 

Employment Opportunities and Support 

We are collaborating with leading military employment support charities and Recruit for Spouses to create meaningful employment pathways. As part of this commitment, we offer guaranteed interviews to military spouses, veterans, and reservists who meet our minimum criteria.
